The
Town of Hanson is located in the south shore area of Massachusetts,
approximately 30 miles south of Boston. The population
of Hanson is approximately 9,800 people. The Hanson
Police Department consists of the Chief of Police, a lieutenant,
19 full-time, sworn, personnel, 7 part-time police officers,
4 civilian dispatchers, 4 part-time dispatchers and the Executive
Assistant to the Chief of Police. The Hanson Police
Department is a non-Civil Service Police Department and was
reorganized by Chapter 255 of the Acts and Resolves of 1981
by the General Court.
We
are a progressive police department, always striving to provide
the best quality of life for our residents and professional,
courteous service to the public. The Department responds
to approximately 14,000 calls
