Patrol Unit
The Hanson
Police Department was the fortunate recipient
of this 1999 Harley Davidson Police Motorcycle
in July of 1999. Hanson business owner Bob
Sullivan, of Sullivan Bros. Inc. 121 Franklin
Street Hanson, MA, donated the motorcycle
to the Hanson Police Department. The motorcycle
was ordered and equipped through the efforts
of two Hanson Officers, Sergeant
Eugene K. Andrews and Sergeant
Michael D. Casey.

 |
The Motorcycle unit currently consists of six
trained officers: Lieutenant
Joseph P. Yakavonis, Sergeant
Michael D. Casey, Officer
Steven W. Gorman, Officer
Jeffrey A. Bailey, Officer
Douglas S. Smith Jr. and Officer
Marc F. Vigneau.
The motorcycle is used primarily as a traffic
enforcement tool. The hours of operation for the
motorcycle unit are 5am-12am (weather permitting).
The motorcycle is also used in parades, at funeral
processions or in instances of close quarter events,
large crowds etc.
